Alex's Lemonade Stand
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is a prominent American nonprofit organization dedicated to combating childhood cancer through funding research, raising awareness, and supporting affected families. The foundation's inception traces back to 2000 when four-year-old Alexandra "Alex" Scott, diagnosed with neuroblastoma, initiated a lemonade stand to raise money for cancer research. Her inaugural stand collected $2,000, and her inspiring efforts galvanized a nationwide movement.
Valor Service Dogs
Valor Service Dogs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in October 2015 in Tampa, Florida, dedicated to assisting post-9/11 wounded veterans and first responders by providing fully trained mobility assistance and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) service dogs. These dogs are tailored to meet the specific needs of each client, aiming to help them regain independence, facilitate their return to civilian life, and foster successful partnerships.
Pockets of Hope
Pockets of Hope is a nonprofit organization founded in early 2022 by Delaware County native Katelynn Devinney, inspired by her mother's experience recovering from a mastectomy. The organization provides free, customized zip-up hooded sweatshirts with internal pockets designed to hold post-surgical drainage tubes, enhancing comfort and mobility during recovery.
